I make what is invisible visible.
My work follows how invisible forces — memory, violence, breath, care — enter the body and take form. So much of what matters in a person lives there before it reaches language.
I came to this through my own body. Over twenty years ago I healed myself from what was considered incurable, by learning to listen to what my body was holding. That listening became my long study. For over six years now I have held the same attention for others as a somatic practitioner in private practice, drawing on osteopathy, psychology, and Tibetan medicine. I study the connection between body, psyche, and what is larger than a person. The art is what returns from there.
A work is finished when someone stops in front of it and something inside them begins to move.
