Breath

Breath is a 45-minute poetic performance with a live electronic score by Ilya Kalinin. It premiered on February 6, 2024.

The work treats the poem as an event, not as a text. What happens to words when they sound aloud for the first time — on one breath with music, in front of witnesses? Poetry stops being a page and becomes time spent together.

In Breath, what usually stays inside is spoken aloud: helplessness, the ancestral, motherhood, war. The work proposes that the acknowledgment of this interior is the point where voice appears.
